Hey, I'm Morgan Gaunt. I named my business after myself because, honestly, where do you draw the line between your business and personal life when you are self-employed?

I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, and after moving to Colorado for five years, my husband and I have settled back here to raise our daughter Vada and live the life we truly want. For us, this life looks like choosing work we love (he sells beer, I make cookies), prioritizing our family, creating community, and above all else, happiness. I come from a long lineage of strong women who raised babies while growing businesses, letting the two knit together until all your family holidays were at the restaurants you owned and your kids all worked for you. This is my heritage, and this is a lifestyle I hope to pass down to Vada.

When my daughter was just a year old, I started making sugar cookies in my kitchen as something fun and creative. Young motherhood can feel overwhelming and tedious at the same time. As someone who has always loved a reason to celebrate (my baby's first Easter, Father's Day, a Graduation!), I needed an outlet, and sugar cookies were the perfect fit.

When I first started making cookies, I called it a hobby. As things grew, I set mini-goals for myself (sell enough cookies to pay for preschool, sell enough to pay for swim lessons), and when I sold enough to pay my mortgage for the first time, I knew this was no longer a hobby, this was a business.

It took some time for me to adjust my thinking and really prioritize this business. In the last two years, I have focused on what I want my company to represent what I want to create, and what I want to say. When it comes down to it, I want my business to reflect my clients and myself. I want people always to feel included and respected; I want to help people learn and grow. I want to bring people together.

Today Morgan G Co. is a custom sugar cookie company, but also a company bringing people together to celebrate their life events. I work with big and small businesses to create branded cookies, families developing cookies for parties, and teaching classes on sugar cookies for education and fun.
